WALLPAPER | 11 SEP 2018

Drawing a crowd of interior designers, stylists and design enthusiasts, renowned interior design Martyn Lawrence Bullard launched his wallpaper collection – collaborated with fine printed wallpaper manufacture Cole & Son – in style at our Melbourne and Sydney showrooms.

From selling his father’s antiques out of the boot of his car, Martyn has continued to rise hailing from the United Kingdom but now calling Los Angeles his home and designing for the Hollywood Stars. Not only is he a multi-award winning interior designer, but Martyn has consistently been named as one of the world’s top 100 interior designers by Architectural Digest – renowned for his broad range of styles and eclectic, yet sophisticated and inviting interiors.

So, it is no surprise that such a collaboration between Cole & Son - arguable one of the most famous wallpaper brands in the world – and Martyn would have come together. The MARTYN LAWRENCE BULLARD collection is an eclectic array of opulent, contemporary designs celebrating the diverse skill and unique craftmanship of cultures around the globe. Created in collaboration with interior designer, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, influences from both Eastern and Western cultures merge in this worldly collection decadent in detail and elegant in colour.

Martyn’s signature layered aesthetics creates interiors with the warmth and depth of a well-travelled soul. Having collection pieces from around the world since his boyhood days working on his father’s antiques stall, Martyn has a deep respect for traditional craftmanship, which is eloquently reflected in the intricate, hand-rendered designs of the collection.

Despite Martyn’s symbolic role within the design industry, he proved himself to be a very humble, approachable and well-rounded designer. By sharing his experiences, design methods, a charming introduction of his beloved dog Daisy and even the interiors of his own house in Palm Springs, Martyn took the audience on a journey and gave us an insight into what it would be like being one of the top interior designers.

As the evening came to an end, the audience was indulged with photos, hugs and kisses with Martyn – truly an unforgettable experience.
